CNC Machining Services FAQ

The CNC machining process is subtractive, and it means that material is removed from the feedstock alloy instead of added or layered.

We use grinders, lathes, and turning mills to cut, shape, and create different parts. We only use CNC machining for metals and alloys, and we do not handle any other materials. We cut, drill, mill, bore, and grind metals and alloys through computer-based control to ensure repeatability and quality. Unlike traditional machining, our process is more precise for industrial productions.

Here are the tolerances for machined parts:

  • +0.005”/-0.005” local tolerances across most geometries in metals.
  • The “As-Milled” finish requirements will have a minimum of 125 surface finish for CNC parts.
  • All fabricated parts have a 0.010” dimensional and 1° angular tolerance.
  • Tapped holes not explicitly called out as Features on the quoted CAD model may be machined to the diameters specified in that model.
  • Unless otherwise specified, no surface treatments such as anodized, bead blasted, powder coated, etc. will be applied.

Many different industries are using CNC machining services. The most common industries we work with are aerospace, aviation, automotive, transportation, robotics, machinery, oil and energy, and various consumer applications. Connect with our team to learn more about the end applications.
