Waterjet Cutting FAQ

It does not bend materials or alter their structures like other cutting methods. It can also cut any shape, even the most complex ones, with the most delicate precision without additional finishing, like sanding or grinding.

The waterjet cutting technology works as follows:

An ultra high-pressured water-based abrasive fluid goes through a nozzle at 60,000 PSI. The stream of water coming out of the nozzle’s orifice is supersonic – going faster than the speed of sound.

Once the ultra pressured abrasive water-based liquid exists from the focusing nozzle, the supersonic fluid stream will instantly cut through any material, including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and more, without producing heat.

Our waterjet offers a high cutting accuracy compared to other cutting processes like laser or plasma. We can achieve part tolerances of +/- 0.001″ with our waterjet, which is ideal for high-precision applications.

All metals and alloys and any material that cannot flex by hand will require abrasion. In the case of steel, stainless steel, and other metals, combining an abrasive with water is necessary to cut through the sheet metal.

Our lead times can vary depending on the availability of base materials, thickness, and the number of pieces we need to cut. Prepare your CAD or technical drawing and contact our team to get a reliable lead time. We respond fast to all requests.
