Plasma cutting or plasma arc cutting is a melting process to cut different materials. We use plasma cutting for sheet metal. You can cut different alloys with that process.
It is less precise than waterjet cutting but has advantages over laser cutting – it is more precise than laser. Compared to waterjet cutting, plasma cutting is used for less demanding applications that are more cost-sensitive.
How does it work?
A jet of ionized gas reaching high temperatures above 20,000°C melts and expels material from the cut area at high speed.
